Back to Cheaha State Park

Here are a few more pictures taken on our hike to pulpit rock in the Cheaha State Park.

About halfway through our hike we came to this really unusual-shaped tree.
While we were taking turns with the pictures, Debbie saw a big hole in the side showing that some fine creature (or family of creatures) had been living there, probably for many seasons and maybe even generations of creatures. There was plenty of room for a large family in the hole.
We stopped at a little grocery store in the park and saw information telling about the history of the park. It was at one time a home of the Creek Indian Tribe. They had many of the arrow heads there in the store. We wanted to take time to go off the trails to explore for more, but that will have to come on another trip.
The park has several campgrounds, cabins, chalets and a nice-looking hotel. The swimming pool for the hotel is built right on the side of the mountain with a beautiful view of the valley. We'll definitely want to check that out next time.
