Memorial Day 2008

Memorial Day weekend was a fun time here in Brookside land. The nicest part was being at home and relaxing most of the day. But we worked in a stop at the Ft. Worth Cabela's store where they were giving out free grilling aprons -- had to have one to go with the smoker I got recently.

Most of the rest of the day was spent experimenting with the new smoker, plus enjoying a great hamburger off the grill. We've come full circle now.
I started off years ago with a charcoal grill. When we moved to Minnesota we bought a large gas grill, then moved into a smaller gas grill. From there we moved to a George Foreman Electric Grill. And now we've come back to the charcoal and wood grill and smoker. It's great to have the real grilling flavor back again.

Sunday afternoon after church we took some fried chicken to Lewisville Lake for our first picnic of the season.

I hope you'll join us "down by the brookside" for some great grilling sometime.
