Today, April 12, was a special day here in Country Lakes.
We started the day stopping by the Redbud Festival in downtown Denton. Last year they had it on the town square. This year they moved it to the city park where they have much attractive landscaping.
We had learned earlier this week that the son of one of our neighbors, a Lance Corporal in the US 
Marine Corp, was coming home today from his tour of duty in Iraq. What a delight to be able to join with other neighbors out in his yard to welcome him home.

My Sweet Debbie added to the special day by getting some yellow ribbons and tying them on several of the street signs from the neighborhood entrance on to his house just around the corner from where we live.
What a day! God bless America! We're so appreciative for the service of these brave men and women in uniform, and so thankful when they come home safely!
