Changing Seasons

The Mother of one of Debbie's best friends in Minnesota died last week following a very short battle with cancer. Debbie went to MN for her memorial service Saturday where Debbie sang "Sheltered in the Arms of God". High temperatures there have been in the mid- to upper 30's and she just sent me a note saying that it is snowing there this afternoon.

In just a little while she will get on an American Airlines jet and return to late summer. Right now it is 78 degrees here -- no snow, of course -- no rain -- just a very warm, still day.

Debbie stayed with our great friends Linda and Wayne Benso in Elk River. She was able to visit with one of our former neighbors and see our former house. And then she was in worship at Northwood Church in Maple Grove this morning! She send me a clip from her cell phone of the folks singing -- sure made me want to be there. I'm happy that she got to to on this trip -- I sure would like to have gone with her, but couldn't work it out this time. But soon!

Yes, we do miss our home, our church family and our neighborhood friends in Minnesota.

Regardless of the temperature, I'm sure happy that Debbie is coming home!!
