Better Late Than Never

When we lived in Minnesota we had a very short growing season for our tomatoes. It was always a race to see how many could ripen before the first freeze. But here in Texas -- well, we've waited all summer for the plants to act they were going to produce. Yes, I planted them a bit late in the spring.

But it is only now in mid-November that the plants have started to produce. The tomatoes are ripening each day and we're having fresh tomatoes every day.

How long will it last? Probably until the first freeze. And that could happen any time now or maybe not until January. The forecast for this week is for temperatures in the 80's early in the week and mid-70's in the latter part.

Bring on those wonderful garden-fresh winter tomatoes, Texas-style!
