Sometimes we can get a good laugh from reading what we think was intended as a serious article. I just wanted to share two of them with you today, just for the fun of it.
Dallas Morning News for today, Sunday, October 28 in the Sports Section, 2nd page. The headline of the story read, "Mustangs Drop Out of Contention for Bowl Game". It sounds like SMU was in serious contention for that bowl, doesn't it. The story was reporting their loss at Tulsa on Saturday. By the time you've read through the article, you find that SMU, after that loss to Tulsa, has one win and 7 losses, this season, and 0-4 in their conference. Gee, what a surprising storyline! I wonder if their fans were surprised!
Then there's the story from earlier in the week about one of those exclusive lake properties south of Fort Worth. The headline reads, "Free Ford Pickup or Mustang with Lake Property Sale". Big feature on how it doesn't add to the price -- it's really a free pickup or Mustang. But then, if you don't need or want a pickup or Mustang, they'll take $20,000 off the price of your property!
But it's free! Duh!
