While in Tulsa we had a delightful visit with Amy Lou and Bud Harris, whom I had not seen since my Mother's funeral service several years ago, and who knows how many years before that. Too long, that's for sure.

My Mother was the youngest of her family by many years. As a young boy it always seemed so strange to have a cousin who was just a few years younger than my Mother. My Mother's sisters and brothers were all many years older -- maybe that's part of the reason we didn't get to see them much. But my Mother's sister's daughter, Amy Lou, lived in Tulsa and we saw her often when I was a young boy. We always had a very special bond during those young years.
They recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary!! They are both in their 80's now, but full of energy and lots of joy. Amy Lou definitely has a "green thumb" with african violets and other plants all around the house and yard.
