It's a Great Week in North America!!

What a great week in North America! We just passed the mid-point of 2007 and now we have an opportunity again to celebrate the great nation God has given us.
I say "North America" because the week started off with our friends and my co-workers to the north celebrating "Canada Day" Sunday, July 1 (observed Monday with a day off work, of course). They're just like the rest of us -- they have picnics when it doesn't rain, they have get-togethers with family or friends, bike rides, fireworks -- all the things that go into a national celebration. For our Canadian friends it wasn't independence they celebrate -- it was being set apart as a Dominion by Great Britain so they could govern themselves while still under the crown of England.

The rest of the week is ours here in the United States of America! I'll write more about this later in the week. Let's celebrate! Not everyone in the world has the freedom to worship without fear of prison or execution. We have that freedom, but as with many freedoms too many take it for granted and don't worship, don't vote and don't celebrate the meaning of freedom. But those of us who do celebrate -- let's do it up good!

God Bless America!
