Have you ever heard the expression that something will happen "when pigs fly"? Or maybe something will stop happening "when pigs fly"? I don't know where the expression came from, and I don't care enough to want to look it up -- though I'm sure it's on the web someplace.
In the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport they have replica pigs all over the airport, including some that are flying. Again, I haven't checked out the reason why they would pick pigs as the symbol of Cincinnati (it no doubt has something to do with their politicians -- or maybe a big hog industry in years past). They have big thoughts about all the things happening in Cincinnati and more that will happen "when pigs fly".
I thought of that old expression as I prepared to tell you about what appears to be some "flying pigs" around our new neighborhood. We recently put out some bird feeders (bird seed in one, plus two hummingbird feeders). Let me tell you -- those "flying pigs" that look like birds empty that seed feeder within an hour every time we fill it. Debbie filled it twice while she was home Monday and they emptied it both times. And then they buzz the hummingbird feeders trying to figure out how to get the sweet stuff out of there without the hummingbird "accessories"!
We really don't know what might happen around here "when pigs fly", but I'm making preparation for that day.
Have a sweet blessing today!
