Walking Along the Mississippi

The weather in Elk River was absolutely fabulous today -- already an autumn sky, bright deep blue with a few bright clouds moving by. Gabriel and I took the occasion to go down to the banks of the Mighty Mississippi River.

Of course the Mississippi River isn't nearly so huge as it is far south of here. In Elk River we're only about 100 miles from the headwater of the river, so it is still a small, clear river at this point.
