July 8 was my date for flying southbound to Bogota by way of Miami, traveling on a wide-body American Airlines Airbus.
My first adventure was going through customs. Before I go again I'll learn much more Spanish so I can be sure what questions they are asking! No, I didn't have a problem there, but you can tell from their facial expression when the answer doesn't seem to correctly fit the question!!

The next big adventure was the taxi ride with David and Mila into the city. They met me at the door where I came out of customs, hailed a taxi and headed out. David had a lot of good laughs at my responses to the taxi. I wish I could tell you it was a hair-raising experience, but it didn't go quite that far. But close. By the 2nd day I was used to their driving styles, but that first day was truly an exciting experience. I don't believe I've seen cars come that close together and not put dents in the car bodies.

All of their taxis are the small cars, sort of similar in size to the Toyota Yaris or maybe a Chevy Metro. They definitely give you an exciting ride!!
I took over 260 pictures on the trip, so check back regularly over the next few days and I'll try to post quite a few of them. If you want to see them all, come see us in beautiful Argyle TX.
