They Still Serve Peanuts!

I flew Southwest Airline from Dallas to St. Louis Monday evening. It was the first time I've been on Southwest since moving to Minnesota. I used to fly them all the time when commuting between Oklahoma and Dallas and Houston with my previous business.

Southwest has to be my favorite airline, in spite of my family ties to American. Too bad they don't go to most of the places I need to go. Plus to fly Southwest I have to drive past DFW, across much of Dallas, to Love Field just north of downtown Dallas. It's convenient for those in central Dallas, but not so for those of us living out west.

Things I like about Southwest include the appearance of happy employees, including ground crew, pilots, gate agents -- and their Flight Attendants (used to be known as stewardesses, but no longer) -- their Flight Attendants still smile. That's something rarely seen on other airlines today. Plus they don't mess with reserved seats. Well actually, they say every seat is reserved -- you just don't know which one is yours until you get on.

One more thing: Southwest still serves peanuts!
