Here are a few more pictures taken at the Texas State Fair last weekend. We had plenty of time to walk around and take pictures while the pie competition was in progress.
It took the judges several hours to do their tasting and judging of all the pies entered in the pie competition. So we just used the time to take pictures to share with you here on the blog.
So off we went through the midway (No, we didn't do any rides this year - I was still recovering from my trips -- and Debbie was pretty tired from a long day of pie-baking). But we walked all ove the fairgrounds just to see what was happening. Here are a few pictures just to share the day with you.
It seemed a bit strange to enter the fair walking under the spread legs of the bow-legged cowboy, but someone must have thought that was a good, unique idea.
"Big Tex" received a whole new set of clothes this year. He's been the "center piece" of the fair area for around 30 years.
