"Winter Storm" hits Texas!

I'm delighted to report that we are back at home, safe and sound and warm in our home. After a long drive from Minnesota, we arrived home a little after 10 last night and spent all day today unloading and getting things into their own place.

It was sort of funny when we turned on the news early this morning to hear about the "Winter Storm" that hit the area. There was about a half inch of snow and the result was traffic gridlock all over the area. We were just happy to have double-digit numbers for a temperature after several days of single digit and sub-zero temperatures during our trip. I worked outside most of the day in my wind-breaker.

Our trip was successful, getting the Camry and the last of our belongings home. We appreciated so much our many friends in Elk River who helped with these things. Wayne and Linda Benso welcomed us into their home where we stayed for the two nights. Mark and Kristin Person kept all the personal things in their garage for us since early December when we moved. And another neighbor, Maurice and Doreen Russell, who had the Camry parked in their driveway. (Maurice is a Pastor at a church in Nowthen MN -- yes, two Russell families in our cul-de-sac in Elk River).

We're so blessed!

Just me said...

This weather is crazy. School has been out all week due to the icy sides roads. Today the roads are clear, but with snow in the forecast, school is still out.
