Home Again

You may have heard about the storms in central Texas last night. We learned on the news this evening that no one lost their life and the injuries reported were comparatively minor. 36 families lost their homes and most possessions. It was interesting to see a feature on one family whose concern expressed on the news was the loss of all old family pictures. I thought about that as I looked at the old pictures Jamie posted.

You may also have heard about people who were stranded on airplanes through the storm. I read of people stranded on an American Airlines plane in Austin for over 8 hours with no food or drinks. That would be very trying at best, especially for those with young children on board. I spent 3 hours sitting on a US Airways plane in Charlotte waiting for DFW to reopen after the storm. The last hour of the 2.5 hour trip was quite turbulent as we passed over the storm that had gone through Texas.

Quite an evening. Remember though, that sitting on a plane can never compare to losing a home in a storm. Much prayer for those folks.

But I'm still happy to be home.
