It's February 1 and we started the month off right with 7" of fresh fluffy snow this morning. I didn't get to use the snow blower all month in January, but started it off right this morning. That 2.5 foot berm at the end of the driveway left by the snow plows is always fun. And I learned a long time ago to not do that part by shovel.
I saw on the news yesterday where the volcano in Hawaii received 10" of snow in the high elevations. This means, officially, that Hawaii received more snow than Minnesota in January, since MN only got 2.5" the whole month. Looks like we could make up for it in February. I'll tell you in 28 days!
Tomorrow is Ground Hog Day, the day when the little ground hog in Pennsylvania comes out of his home and predicts the length of our winter by whether or not he sees his shadow. I've always wondered how that works when they announce the outcome before sunrise!! Oh well! I always celebrate Ground Hog Day by having a ground hog sandwich. Very good -- can't wait for tomorrow. They sell them at the restaurant about a half mile down the street from where we live.
Have a blessed day! Love to you all from the Snowy Happy Grandpa!
