Trip to the Feria

It's Thursday and we (David, Mila, Yolanda, Debbie and me) took a family trip to the Feria (Fair or Exposition). Not really a fair as we tend to think of them with amusement rides and things like that. There were displays and expositions of everything you could imagine.

When we lived in Minnesota it was almost a tradition for us, when we went to the Minnesota State Fair, to always come home with a new broom or knife. And sure enough, one of our first stops was at a display where a special knife was being demonstrated.

It's one of those that can slice fruits and veggies as thin as paper and other special features. Debbie and David each bought a few, one for themselves, and others for gifts. We just can't go to a fair without bringing home a new knife.

We tried out more new fruits at the fruit display -- Debbie loved the nectarine. The fruit I tried (don't know the name) wasn't nearly so good. Almost the consistency of a dry, raw sweet potato. But I just had to experiment.
We loved the windpipe music of this quartet. I could have listened far more.

That green bumpy fruit looks odd. Did you try it? I'm curious as to what it is.

I think Debbie should use the "food on a stick" picture for her FB profile picture.

I think I've seen that windpipe group at the OK State Fair and in the malls at Christmas time. I know its not the same group, but they sure look like the guys around here. Let me guess... was it echoe-y windpipe-y music?

I'm hoping I get a knife!!!

I love the pictures!!!!
