Adventure in Bogota, 1.0

We arrived in Bogota today - September 8 -- on American Airlines. The plan is to take a LOT of pictures and post many right here each day up to and including wedding pictures this Saturday evening. Just to get things going, I'll include the whole trip.

We left Stillwater OK Monday morning, leaving Gabriel with Kendra and JD and the boys. This is a first us in over 8 years for him to for stay anyplace without at least one of us there.

First leg of the trip took us from Oklahoma City to St. Louis where we had a quick lunch with Joanne and Mike at the Lone Star Steakhouse.

Then it was back to the airport for the flight to Miami Florida where we spent the night.

The Colombia Adventure began Tuesday morning with the flight from Miami to Bogota. David and Yolanda, Mila's Mom, met us at the airport in Bogota

After a rest stop at Yolanda's home, we met with the Priest who will be officiating at the wedding. Each of us were interviewed individually, then David and Mila together. David got to stay with me to interpret since the Priest speaks no English and I speak only minimal Spanish. I actually had to be sworn in with my hand on the Bible, promising to tell the truth. Very interesting meeting.

Have you ever had a corn and bacon pizza? It's one of David's favorites now. Tonight Yolanda and Mila made these for our supper. It looks simple and tastes great! Start with the crust, add sauce, bacon, corn, cheese and bake it.

Check back -- I'll add pictures as often as I can and try to keep you updated on all that is happenign during this exciting week.
