I heard an interesting reminder on the radio this evening in Paris.
"A man doesn't drown because he falls in the water. He drowns because he doesn't get up out of the water"!
That stirred my memory a bit (yes, it does still work at times) to one of my favorite scriptures, Psalm 40, which starts in the 2nd verse, "...He lifted me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock and established by goings...".
I'm certainly thankful (DAILY) for a God who lifts us up out of the messes we get ourselves into!
