One thing we've always known about peach trees in Oklahoma and Texas is that when they get a few days of warm, sunny weather that the blooms come out, ready to start producing that wonderful fruit. Then the freezing weather returns and many of the blossoms go away and that's it for the year.
Our "Winter" in Texas has been so mild this month that our little peach tree came blossoming out, looking so bright and pink and pretty. Looking good.
But remember -- it's February. And tonight the freezing weather has surely returned - already down to 30 degrees and dropping. The Peach Tree is all wrapped up right now, covered with a nice heavy sheet, waiting for the sunshine to return tomorrow.
