Special Sunday Blessing

Last Sunday morning, after a fun Saturday night in Edmond, I went to church with Jamie and Dale, always a special worship time. Their guest speaker for the day was Dr. Gordon MacDonald, who lives in the New England area where he has served as Pastor, and currently is also President of a University in Denver.

In 1988 Dr. MacDonald wrote a big entitled, "Rebuilding Your Broken World". This was a follow-up to an earlier book, "Ordering Your Private World". Both books were written after a time when he dealt with the aftermath of a difficult time.

In the late '80's I had just started a new job with Armstrong World Industries while dealing with the aftermath of a difficult time. A Pastor-friend gave me a copy of the "Rebuilding..." book and it blessed me so much and helped give some direction as I worked to put it all back together again.

I shared this with Dr. MacDonald when I met him after the worship service. I hope knowing what a blessing his book was that he, too, was blessed. What a treat to meet him in person after all these years!
