January 22, 1973 was the date of the Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion. Back then many of us could not imagine a society that would want to legally kill so many babies, to but to date more than 49,000,000 babies have been killed. I know the liberals always bring up the issue of protecting the health of the mother, but less than 7% of the abortions have any relationship to the health of the mother. Most are for convenience.
Now our country has elected a president who views pregnancy as a punishment for a mistake, rather than a life created. Our government obviously is not going to look at better solutions, so I suggest two things that we can do:
1. Reach our "world" around us with the message of Christ. The only reason abortion clinics thrive is because they have so many "customers". If they had no customers they couldn't stay open. That would be far more effective than trying to pass laws.
2. Communicate the message of taking responsibility for our actions. If a baby is made, either raise it and love it, or allow one of the thousands of couples who wish to adopt to do so and give that baby and loving family.
There is still a solution that doesn't depend on the government.
