The event was a concert by MercyMe prior to the Texas Rangers ballgame against the Toronto Bluejays. The concert was held out on the grass just east of the Stadium.
In spite of the heat, there were several thousand people out for the concert. Most of them were young people in their teens, but there were quite a few of us "not quite so young, but feeling very young at heart".
MercyMe did a great job, as always, singing their hearts out for the Lord, calling on all the people to worship the Lord even in the heat. Bart said they were trying to "imagine" that it was 75 degrees and that was the only thing keeping them from exploding the heat. I can tell you that they didn't back off anything, singing their hearts out to the Lord and to all the people out there.

Josh Hamilton, Right Fielder for the Rangers, joined in for a few minutes, sharing his own personal testimony of his relationship with Jesus Christ. When he left, a lot of young children met him off-stage and he spent some time signing autographs.

I'll add some personal comments in another blog, but just wanted to share with you the joy of worship even in major Texas heat!
