Overlooking the city of Bogota from the top of a mountain about 2,000 feet about the city is a large church. The area at the top of the mountain is known as Monserrate (literally "the church in the mountain").
The view from the top is absolutely beautiful. Here is just a sample.
We walked from the city up to the point where you can ride the cable car on to the top. There is a path where you can walk to the top, but I didn't have enough days there to be able to do that this time. 
When I looked back once I found David getting a bit of help on his walk up to the cable car.
