The Presidential Palace

Mila took us to the Presidential Palace in downtown Bogota. Of course we didn't get to see President Aribe, but the Palace Guards were rather impressive. Security was very obvious, as you might expect.

As we all know from the media in the USA, political opinions are everyplace. The general opinion that I got in Bogota was that President Aribe is about as popular as President Bush at a Democrat's Political Rally. Some of the publications are already hyping for the lady to run for president, the one who was taken hostage 5 years ago and recently released.

Directly behind the Presidential Palace is this square where there is a large church and many political meeting facilities. This is the site of the first picture above.
