The View from David's Palace

David's new apartment is on the 7th floor overlooking Atlanta's Centennial Park and the World of Coke. A short time after he got moved in a big storm went through Atlanta and included a tornado that did the unusual thing of going through the downtown area.

You probably read or heard about the storm and how it hit the CNN building and the Omni hotel next door, seen in the background across the park.

Then it went along Centennial Park to the Georgia Dome where the SEC basketball tournament was being played. All of that is just a short walk across Centennial Park from David's apartment.

These snapshots were taken from the balcony of David's apartment, with the CNN building shot taken with telephoto, of course. David said he got home from work just before the big storm hit the area. Thankfully there was no damage or direct contact on his side of Centennial Park.

The afternoon sun prevented us from seeing the Georgia Dome behind the buildings at the back side of Centennial Park. The building to the right is the Acquarium, about a half-block down the street.
