That was the focus of all the news reports last night and all the big headlines this morning here in North Central Texas. WINTER STORM WARNING!
In our former home when the forecasters said "Winter Storm Warning", it meant we were expecting 1 to 2 feet of snow with frigid temperatures. Here in North Central Texas, it means the possibility of 1/10 to 1/4 inch of snow or sleet or a mixture of those two. I'll be among the first to acknowledge that when ice comes and gets on the car and on the roads, plans for the day need to be altered. There are no tires that give cars the ability to go or stop on ice.
The reports tell us that to our west there is some freezing and to the northeast around Paris TX there is icing on the roads and bridges. But here in our area the temperature is a balmy 38 degrees with light mist.
Schools are closed in many areas and airlines cancelled flights at DFW just in case. This is a Texas Winter Storm at its best! By the way, the forecast for Monday is 70 degrees!
Have a blessed day -- and try to stay warm in this TEXAS WINTER STORM!
