Back to Antlers

We had a special treat Sunday morning while in Southeast Oklahoma. We attended worship services at the First Baptist Church, Antlers OK for the first time since we moved to MN several years ago.

You would have thought that we had just been away for a very short time. When we went in some of the ladies there came from all over the worship center to greet us and give Debbie a giant hug. Debbie had such a special church family at Antlers who rallied around a young single Mom and her kids and built loving and lasting relationships.

Otis & Lee Gaines were two of those very special friends in Antlers and are still active members. Otis was also Debbie's manager on her job with the Oklahoma Bureau of Reclamation when I met her and was also a bi-vocational Pastor at a rural church near Antlers. He is now retired and says he is a full-time Bible teacher at FBC, Antlers.

15 years ago next week we were married there at FBC Antlers. Both of our Moms were there, now both with the Lord. David was my best man then -- he still is now. Travis escorted his Mom to the ceremony and Kendra was her flower girl. Mike Thornhill and his family were there, and so many of Debbie's special friends and family. More about that next fantastic occasion next week.
