Snoopy would probably start out a story about tonight by writing, "It was a dark and stormy night". Of course it's not really stormy tonight, but it is dark and starting to cool off. We even have a forecast for our first official freeze this weekend. The storms were here yesterday -- all water, no snow, no ice.
A first freeze in the middle of December seems as far out to me as it did our first winter in Minnesota when I found out you couldn't plant a garden there until Memorial Day weekend in the spring. But they say it really is coming. That's even more signficant when you think about the ice storms you Okies have been having just a few hours north of us.
Our Christmas tree is all decorated and I even put away the boxes the decorations came out of. Between many meaningful ornaments that we have collected over the years, plus all the old Christmas movies that Debbie loves to watch, I got to thinking about a lot of special things that have happened around the Christmas season. If I can keep these thoughts fresh, I may try to share a few of them here over the next few nights.
Don't worry about there being too many of them -- my memory only goes so far, you know. I won't have many pictures -- those are all still in the special moving containers (aka, boxes), but gradually coming out into the open again.
But I can sure tell some good stories from some of our ornaments. Check back soon. I'll get started this weekend.
