It's Thursday night and I'm in my hotel in Vancouver preparing to go home tomorrow after a very busy and tiring week. After all the work was done today, I asked one of our technician's here what one point we should not miss since we had only this afternoon and evening in Vancouver. His response? The tram that goes up Grouse Mountain. So off we went.
Not far from the base of the tram was a park built around Cleveland Dam (excuse me, "Water Retaining Wall"). The park was absolutely beautiful -- the beauty of the mountains over the lake, the deep valley where the outflow of the lake went over the "water retaining wall", the colorful plants around the area. Wow!
Grouse Mountain is on the north side of Vancouver and overlooks the city. It was already late in the day and there was much haze, so the
pictures aren't real bright. But there is enough so that you can imagine the beauty of the area. Our Worship Pastor at Northwood Church in Maple Grove MN was from Vancouver and frequently told us about the beauty of the area. Now you can see some of it.
