It's very late Sunday night. We got home from our trip to Oklahoma and just wanted to give a quick update. Check back tomorrow night late and I'll have a few more pictures posted.
As noted earlier we made the trek to Enid Oklahoma for the "Round Up Sunday" at Liberty Southern Baptist Church. The current Pastor, Jerry Holt, will complete 10 years as Pastor in February. I held the previous record of 8.5 years -- I'm delighted that he has been able to stay there this long and promised him that we would pray regularly for him.
They had 96 people in Sunday School this morning and several more joined for the worship service. It was such a blessing to see long-time friends who stood with me through some very difficult days those years ago -- folks like Dale and Jeannet Ratliff and their daughters Robin (and her husband) and Rhonda and her boys, the Hooley family (without Earl who is with the Lord now), Sandie Hall (I married her and her husband about 24 years ago!), and a few more who I'll mention later.
We had another treat. We met a couple who had been in Enid for just over 2 years, moving from Muskogee where they had been active members of First Baptist Church, Muskogee. I asked her if she had ever met my Aunt and Uncle, Dorothy and Melvin Kessinger. She gave me a very warm and happy hug, then told me that she and Dorothy had taught children's Sunday School together for over 20 years. That was such a terrific blessing.
We had a great time at the service. I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow night.
