I'd be thinking about getting my own Jeep like that one day if it wasn't for how much that little vehicle loves gas stations. So I think I'll pass.
Sunday morning we went top-down out to Lithonia to go to church at New Birth Church where Eddie Long is Pastor. We had heard Eddie speak at a Promise Keepers rally a few years ago -- talk about a treat and a great time of worship! Pastor Long is an outstanding preacher of the Word who is also a Black brother. And his church is probably 98-99% Black. Out of 3-4,000 people who were there, David and I saw at least 2 others with our shade of skin -- surely there were at least twice that many! But talk about great singing and preaching of the Word! Our cups were full by the time we left there nearly 3 hours later. We received more hugs and smiles and happy greetings than I had seen in a long time! One thing -- there's nothing dull there -- the people definitely participate in the worship! (Sort of like the folks in the Psalms did, I'm sure).
In the afternoons they have a Latino service, and with David's growing fluency in Spanish, he just might check out that one sometime. That would be a neat experience! Next Sunday is Easter Sunday and New Birth will have their worship service at the Georgia Dome! I guess I'll stay in Texas for Easter this year though.
More updates very soon. Love to you and yours today!
