Got a Pike Pass?

Hey Guys, if you drive with a Pike Pass in your car, there's something you ought to be aware of. The OTA office isn't very specific in checking identification when someone goes in to report a lost Pike Pass. Maybe they think that anyone wanting to use a Pike Pass must surely be honest.

In early May someone went in to the office on Memorial in OKC and reported mine lost and they gave him a replacement. Then they charged our account $30 for the lost Pike Pass plus all the charges the guy ran up on the replacement Pike Pass. When my statement came, I called and mentioned that I was not in the state when the charges were made. They faxed me a copy of the loss report -- my name was there, but clearly not my signature. Whoever processed it didn't ask for an address, phone or even a vehicle license number. Interesting. The person did know my name, which suggests possibly someplace I had the vehicle serviced on a trip (I didn't take it on the last trip for Jamie and Dale's wedding). That way they knew my name. And have you ever noticed -- when the Pike Pass is installed, the OTA number is facing out of your vehicle for anyone to copy.

Just thought I would mention this to you in case you use one -- from any state. When my replacement Pike Pass comes, one thing I'll do is put some tape over the numbers.

Once again we see the confirmation of the scriptures telling us of the depravity of a person's life and soul when they don't have a living relationship with their Creator!

That is horrible about your Pike Pass. I haven't ever had one because I don't travel the turnpikes enough to justify using one and too many people that I work with have troubles with incorrect billing. Now I don't think I'll ever get one.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune.

Love,
Jamie

That sounds way too easy to commit fraud with those Pike Passes! I think they need to make some improvements!
