So Happy to be Home!

After three weeks of business travel, it is wonderful to be home! Two weeks in Dallas, followed by 3 days in Toronto and 2 days in Ottawa, Ontario; I'm absolutely delighted to be home. And I even get to stay home for a couple of weeks. Our next trip will be as a family to Oklahoma in mid-May -- all three of us! The best part of the two weeks in Dallas was the weekend in the middle with a quick trip to Oklahoma. You saw the pictures of that visit on the earlier blog.

Ottawa was an interesting visit. After the work was done in our office, my French-speaking co-worker (He lives across the border in Quebec where French is the common language) took us for a tour of the area. We saw the Canadian Parliament building, headquarters for the National Canadian government. It was interesting to see the consulates of several countries in the immediate area near the Parliament.

Then, get this -- after the tour, Norm took us to a neighborhood shopping area where we all dined on beaver tail. Yep, we all had some. Quite interesting menu item. I really never thought about that being an edible item. But it was really quite tasty. I have to admit that I've never seen them on the menu anyplace but Ottawa, and probably wouldn't have ordered one without the encouragement of my friend. After all, what are friends for if not to open us up to new tastes and experiences. Quite interesting, to say the least. I asked about recipes, but was told they didn't have any for sale. Plus it would probably be hard to get the raw materials at home. I doubt that my Sweet Bride would share in the delight with me. (She says I'm quite right!).

I may have more family news soon that I'll look forward to sharing here. I was delighted to here about the horse trading partnership that had started between David and Jessica while I was away. That's terrific! I have a feeling that lots of good stories will come out of that transaction.

More family events coming soon: New baby boy about to be born any day now in Stillwater; and summer wedding bells in Edmond! 2006 is turning out to be a wonderful year with wonderful blessings!!

You know, it seems as if a beaver tail would make a better plate than a meal.
Let us know when Kendra pops.
