Grandma Russell just called to tell me that Ryan Lucas Winterhalter was born this afternoon at 4:16 pm, April 26, weighing in at 6 pounds 11 ounces and 20 1/4 inches tall. I'm sure we'll have a picture to share sometime very soon. I'll post it here as soon as it comes in.
Proud Mom and Dad JD and Kendra seem to be doing fine. Nervous wreck Grandma Russell appears to be doing moderately well and wishing we lived a few hours closer. I'll see what I can do about that. I wonder if I'm really going to be able to keep Grandma in Elk River for two weeks before she can go see this baby boy? I'll tell you in two weeks.

Well good for them! I'm sure he is a cutie! I am sure Dylan will like being a big brother. If you have the link to their family blog, you could post it so we could see their pictures.
I know what you mean, David. I have the same thoughts everytime one of the kids calls me "Grandpa Russell". There was only one for many years and it wasn't me. Of course, some years before that the name only referred to his Dad. I guess it's our turn now to be Grandpa and Grandma Russell.
I do have to tell you that the name carries high honor and value -- I do love the name!! I do my best to carry it well.
