Advance Preparation

I told you about my foot injury. I've been walking very slow -- until this morning. My two outside toes on my left foot are very swollen and quite colorful - no boring skin tones for this boy. This morning I was wondering how I would get around -- having those dress shoes on was painful -- and worse today with the swelling.

And then the thought came -- preparation had already been made before I got here. Last week I noticed that I had walked the bottom off of my walking shoes, so armed with a 40% off coupon that came by email we headed for the outlet mall in Albertville. The Reeboc store had these really cool shoes with little air pumps that made the shoe just sort of wrap your feet like a perfect fitting glove. With my coupon they were only $35, so I took them home with me.

This morning I put on my cool shoes (that left foot was an experience -- don't think it was easy and painless. But once the foot was inside, I turned on the pump -- and within 5 or 6 steps my foot was in nirvana! And I made it all day. The toes are still quite colorful, but the swelling has gone down.

This evening I was reading Isaiah 26:3 in "The Message". Check this out: "People with their minds set on you, you keep completely whole, steady on their feet, because they keep at it and don't quit. Depend on God and keep at it because in the Lord God you have a sure thing"!
King James puts it more simply: "He will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Him!
