A Perspective on the Olympics

The Winter Olympics start in just a few more days -- they should be good this year. It's interesting to watch the preparation, and eventually the games themselves, from the perspective of being in Minnesota where many of the US Team Members live. Much of the training is done here in the Minneapolis area at Buckhill Ski Resort along I-35W south of the city and at the giant ski jump in Bloomington. Shucks, they almost make the "Curling" competition sound interesting. Note that I said "almost".

If you think back to years past when that "sport" might have started, I can imagine people going out on their ponds or a lake, clearing the snow and playing a local winter form of shuffleboard. Maybe. There definitely seems to be a similarity to a "sport" called "Curling".

Let the games begin! USA! USA! USA!
