Going for the Gold

The Olympics are underway now in Italy and all the athletes have one thing in common -- they all want the gold!

Isn't it interesting that in the Olympics all the nations can come together and compete without killing each other? (Well, except for 1972 when the terrorists did their thing against Israel!). The USA and Russia are there (that was always interesting during the Cold War), Iran and other Muslim countries, Germany, France, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Great Britain, Ireland, and some countries we never hear about without the Olympics. Maybe we need to elect a few more athletes to national positions. Then when there was a political conflict, maybe the nations could have a football or soccer playoff. Or it was winter, they could always go "curling"!

Speaking of gold, I got another "gold star" this morning at Weight Watchers. (I usually weigh in on Monday evenings, but since I'm traveling next week I went this morning). Gold stars come with each 5 pound increment of weight loss.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Congratulations Dad! You're quite the athlete! I'm glad you are going for the gold, again and again. I got my first gold star today too for reaching my goal weight for my height. It is a good feeling to know we are striving for gold and for much better future health!

Congrats Dad!!!!!

I love you!
